Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Rune Technologies, an edge-native technology provider. Rune's software helps military teams forecast supply needs and allocate resources, including in areas with limited or no connectivity. Salesforce says the deal expands its Missionforce portfolio with super intelligence capabilities for tactical-edge logistics.
Salesforce says the acquisition connects frontline operations with enterprise data and workflows. The company calls it its most significant national security acquisition to date. It also says its defense business grew 80% year over year, with customers in all six U.S. military branches.
The post does not state a purchase price, an expected closing date or how Rune's products will be sold after the deal closes.
