Pricing breakdown

Crisp Pricing Explained (2026)

Crisp charges per workspace, not per agent — $45, $95 or $295 a month with seats bundled in and extras at $10 each. Team size barely moves the bill.

Flat workspace pricing changes what you optimise for

Every other tool on this site makes you count agents. Crisp makes you count almost nothing. Mini bundles four seats at $45 a month, Essentials ten at $95, Plus twenty or more at $295, and anyone beyond the bundle is $10. Your bill does not meaningfully respond to hiring.

The consequence is that the upgrade trigger is a feature, not a headcount. You move from Mini to Essentials because you want a knowledge base, and from Essentials to Plus because you want ticketing or white labeling. Nobody at Crisp is waiting for your support team to grow.

Cost per agent, which is where this gets interesting

Team size Crisp Plus ($295 + $10/extra seat) Per agent LiveChat Business ($79/agent)
10 $295/mo (seats included) $29.50 $790/mo
20 $295/mo $14.75 $1,580/mo
35 $445/mo $12.71 $2,765/mo

At ten agents Crisp Plus is already less than half the per-seat alternative. At thirty-five it is roughly a sixth. This is the entire argument for the product and the reason it turns up on every Intercom-alternative list — the model degrades gracefully as you grow instead of punishing you for it.

Run the same comparison at three agents and the gap narrows sharply: Crisp Essentials is $95 while three LiveChat Team seats are $147. Still cheaper, but not the landslide. Crisp's pricing advantage is a function of team size, and below five people it is a preference rather than an obvious win.

AI credits are the variable you have to watch

The flat fee is not entirely flat. Crisp meters AI usage in credits, with each tier carrying an allowance: roughly $5 worth on Mini (about 90 automated conversations), $25 on Essentials (about 450), $75 on Plus (about 1,350). Automate past your allowance and you buy more credits.

For a support operation leaning hard on bots this is the line item that moves, and it deserves a forecast. Estimate your automated conversation volume, map it against the tier allowances, and price the overage — otherwise you have budgeted a fixed cost for something that behaves like a usage cost. It is worth noting the direction of travel here differs from Tidio, where AI resolution removes conversations from the bill; on Crisp, AI resolution adds to it.

The gap between $95 and $295

There is nothing between Essentials and Plus, and the jump is 210%. Plus adds ticketing, unlimited task automations, white labeling, 100+ integrations, advanced analytics and triple the AI credits. That is a coherent bundle for a support department, and complete overkill for a team of six that wanted one feature from the list.

If you are eyeing Plus for a single capability, price the workaround first. A $200-a-month increase to get white labeling is worth it for an agency reselling support; it is not worth it because you would prefer your widget without a badge.

Monthly, yearly, and the discounts most people miss

Yearly billing is available on every paid tier alongside monthly. Crisp also publishes 50% off for nonprofits and students, and 20% off when you run three or more additional workspaces on Essentials or Plus — relevant if you operate several brands or client accounts, since the multi-workspace discount stacks on what is already the cheapest per-agent model in the category.

Who this model suits

Crisp is built for support teams of eight to forty people who want predictable costs and do not want to have a budget conversation every time they hire. It is also strong for agencies and multi-brand operators, where the workspace discount compounds. E-commerce and SaaS teams running a mix of inbound support and proactive messaging get the most out of the omnichannel inbox at the Essentials tier.

It suits small teams less well than the free plan suggests. Two seats without an email inbox is a narrow product, and a three-person team paying $95 for Essentials is spending more per head than they would on a lightweight per-seat tool. It also punishes anyone with heavy automation and a small team, because the AI credits scale with bot volume while the bundled allowance scales with tier.

Prices move

Everything above is Crisp's published pricing as of July 2026. AI credit allowances in particular are the kind of thing vendors revise quietly — check crisp.chat before you build a forecast around a credit number.

What the pricing page doesn't show

  • AI is metered in credits, not included outright. Mini carries roughly $5 of credits (90 automated conversations) and Essentials roughly $25 (450). Heavy automation means buying more, so the flat fee is flat only until the bots get busy.
  • The knowledge base is an Essentials feature. If you signed up for Mini expecting a help centre alongside your inbox, the real entry price for that setup is $95, not $45.
  • Free gives two seats and a chat widget but no email inbox. Teams that assume 'free shared inbox' includes email discover it does not, and the fix is $45 a month.
  • Extra seats are $10 each and stack indefinitely. A 30-person team on Plus pays $295 plus ten extra seats — $395 a month — which is still cheap per head, but it is not the $295 on the pricing page.
  • Ticketing, white labeling and unlimited task automations all sit on Plus at $295. There is no middle step between $95 and $295, so a team needing one Plus feature pays a 210% increase to get it.

Frequently asked questions

Is Crisp really priced per workspace and not per agent?
Yes. Each paid tier bundles a seat count — 4 on Mini, 10 on Essentials, 20 or more on Plus — and additional agents are $10 a month each. Adding your fifth support person costs $10, not another full licence, which is the core difference from LiveChat or Intercom.
What can the free plan actually do?
Two seats, the website chat widget, a basic shared inbox and the mobile apps. It does not include the email inbox, so it handles website chat only. That is enough for a solo founder answering chats from a phone, and not enough for anything with a support@ address.
Is Mini at $45 or Essentials at $95 the right starting point?
Mini if you need chat plus email for a small team and nothing more. Essentials if you want a knowledge base, the AI chatbot builder, routing rules or analytics — and most teams want at least one of those within a few months. Essentials is the more common real answer.
How do Crisp's AI credits work?
Each paid plan includes a credit balance rather than unlimited AI. Crisp quotes Mini at around $5 of credits (roughly 90 automated conversations), Essentials at $25 (450) and Plus at $75 (1,350). Beyond your allowance you buy more, so automation volume is the one usage-based part of an otherwise flat bill.
Are there discounts?
Crisp publishes 50% off for nonprofits and students, and 20% off when you run three or more additional workspaces on Essentials or Plus. Yearly billing is offered alongside monthly on every paid tier.
How long is the trial?
Fourteen days with full feature access. Since the free plan never expires, the practical route is to trial Plus, see which gated features you actually reach for, then settle on the tier that covers them.
