A 10-person sales team pays $900 a month for HubSpot Sales Hub Professional, billed annually, plus a $1,500 onboarding fee in the first year. That is the plan with sequences and forecasting, which is why most sales teams end up on it. Starter costs $70 a month on HubSpot's current new-customer offer, but it has neither.
Four things decide what you actually pay: the onboarding fee, the annual commitment, which seat each person gets, and the credits that AI agents spend. If marketing joins the same account, marketing contacts become a fifth.
Below are all five with numbers, and three teams of ten that pay $70, $970 and $2,270 a month.
The seat price
Prices from hubspot.com/pricing/sales and HubSpot's Product & Services Catalog, checked on 7 October 2026:
| Plan | Annual billing | Paid monthly | Onboarding, one time | HubSpot Credits a month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $7 per seat (offer; list $20) | $10 per seat (offer; list $20) | none | 500 |
| Professional | $90 per seat | $100 per seat, annual commitment | $1,500 | 3,000 |
| Enterprise | $150 per seat, annual only | not offered | $3,500 | 5,000 |
For ten people:
| Plan | Per month | Year one | Year two |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter, offer price | $70 | $840 | price after the offer not published |
| Starter, list price | $200 | $2,400 | $2,400 |
| Professional, annual billing | $900 | $12,300 | $10,800 |
| Professional, paid monthly | $1,000 | $13,500 | $12,000 |
| Enterprise | $1,500 | $21,500 | $18,000 |
Three details in that table surprise buyers.
The Starter price is an offer. HubSpot lists Starter at $20 a seat and sells it to new customers for $7 with an upfront annual payment or $10 month to month. The page says the offer is for a limited time and does not say what you pay at renewal. Budget year two at $20.
Paying monthly on Professional is not a monthly contract. The pricing page labels Professional's monthly option "Commit annually". You pay $100 a seat each month instead of $90, and you are still in for the year. Only Starter can be cancelled month to month.
Onboarding is a fixed fee, so it hurts small teams most. $1,500 is 12% of a 10-seat team's first year on Professional. HubSpot's page says the price shown "does not include the required, one-time Professional Onboarding".
Seats: who needs a paid one
HubSpot has three seat types that matter to a sales team:
- Sales Seat, $90 a month on Professional with annual billing. Sequences, forecasting, conversation intelligence and the rest of Sales Hub Professional need it.
- Core Seat, used on Starter. On Professional it gives the core CRM but not the full Sales Hub features.
- View-only Seat, free on every paid plan. The user can view records, reports and dashboards, but cannot edit a record, log an email, save a report or use sales tools.
A sales director who only reads the forecast can sit on a free view-only seat. A manager who reassigns deals cannot, because reassigning is editing.
Seat counts go up any time and come down only at renewal. HubSpot's help centre says the total "can't be reduced until your next renewal date". If you buy 12 seats for 10 people, you pay for 12 for the rest of the year.
Credits: the second meter
HubSpot meters AI agents and some data features in HubSpot Credits. Each account gets a monthly allowance: 500 on Starter, 3,000 on Professional, 5,000 on Enterprise. The allowance belongs to the account, not to each seat. Unused credits do not roll over.
What things cost, from the credits rate sheet in HubSpot's catalog:
- prospecting agent, research and draft outreach for one lead: 100 credits;
- data agent, answer one prompt for one record: 10 credits;
- one AI action in a workflow: 10 credits;
- monitor one company for one custom intent signal for a month: 50 credits.
So 3,000 credits on Professional cover the prospecting agent on 30 leads a month. On Starter, 500 credits cover 5.
When the allowance runs out, the features pause until the next reset. You can buy more in two ways: pay-as-you-go at $0.01 a credit, billed monthly after use, or capacity packs at $10 per 1,000 credits a month. A capacity pack raises your limit for the rest of the contract term. If you switch on automatic upgrades, HubSpot moves you to a bigger pack when you exceed the limit and keeps you there until the term ends.
Marketing Hub: priced on contacts, not seats
If marketing joins the account, the bill gains a second axis. Marketing Hub Professional costs $800 a month on annual billing ($890 paid monthly with an annual commitment). It includes 3 Core Seats and 2,000 marketing contacts, and requires a $3,000 onboarding fee.
Beyond 2,000 contacts, the catalog lists monthly prices per block of 5,000 marketing contacts: $250 each up to 22,000, falling to $150 a block above 82,000. A marketing contact is anyone you can send marketing email to or target with ads. Contacts you mark as non-marketing are free.
Two rules from the catalog matter here. If you exceed your contact tier, HubSpot bills you immediately. Your contact tier cannot be lowered until renewal.
Included credits do not add up across hubs. With Sales Hub Professional and Marketing Hub Professional, the account still gets 3,000 credits, not 6,000.
Three teams of ten
1. Starter as a shared pipeline: $70 a month. Ten reps log deals and emails, use the meeting scheduler and simple workflows, and need no sequences or forecasting. On the new-customer offer with annual payment: 10 × $7 = $70 a month, $840 for the year, paid upfront. Budget $200 a month from year two, when the list price is likely to apply. No onboarding fee.
2. Professional with a prospecting agent: $970 a month. Ten reps on Sales Seats, annual billing: 10 × $90 = $900. The team runs the prospecting agent on 100 new leads a month: 100 × 100 = 10,000 credits against 3,000 included. Seven capacity packs cover the gap: 7 × $10 = $70. That is $970 a month, $11,640 a year, plus $1,500 onboarding: $13,140 in year one.
3. Sales and marketing on one account: $2,270 a month. The same ten reps and agent use, plus Marketing Hub Professional for two marketers on its 3 included Core Seats, with 10,000 marketing contacts:
- Sales Hub Professional, 10 Sales Seats: $900;
- Marketing Hub Professional: $800;
- 8,000 contacts above the included 2,000, two blocks of 5,000: 2 × $250 = $500;
- credits: still 3,000 included, the agent uses 10,000, seven packs: $70.
That is $2,270 a month and $27,240 a year. Onboarding adds $1,500 for Sales Hub and $3,000 for Marketing Hub, so year one costs $31,740.
For comparison, ten seats on Attio cost $350 a month on Plus and $790 on Pro, with no onboarding fee. Our Attio cost guide works through the same kind of scenarios.
What to check before you sign
- Which features you need. Sequences and forecasting start at Professional. If you need either, compare Professional at $90 a seat, not Starter at $7.
- The price in year two. Ask HubSpot in writing what Starter costs at renewal, and whether the offer price is locked.
- The commitment. Professional and Enterprise commit you for a year even when you pay monthly. Seats and marketing contact tiers cannot be reduced until renewal.
- Who gets which seat. List every person. Give a Sales Seat only to people who sell; put readers on free view-only seats.
- Monthly credit use. Count leads the prospecting agent will work (100 credits each) and AI workflow actions (10 each). Decide in advance between paused features, pay-as-you-go and capacity packs.
- Marketing contacts. If marketing joins, count the contacts you will email, not the whole database, and mark the rest as non-marketing before the first invoice.
- First-year cash. Add onboarding: $1,500 for Sales Hub Professional, $3,000 for Marketing Hub Professional.
