What is Missive?

Missive is a team inbox that connects email, SMS, WhatsApp and social accounts. Teammates discuss a conversation inside the thread, share team inboxes and tasks, and turn any email into a task with a due date. Rules automate repeated steps. An AI assistant gathers context before it writes a reply and can pull from tools such as Stripe or a CRM through MCP.

Who is it for?

Support, operations and agency teams that handle customer email together and want internal comments, assignments and capacity views in the inbox. Starter is limited to 5 users and Productive to 50. Teams that need deal tracking, pipelines or contact scoring should pair it with a CRM.

Pricing

Prices are per user per month, billed yearly (the page shows a 20% yearly discount). There is a 30-day free trial with no credit card.

• Starter: $14, up to 5 users. Email, SMS and social accounts, team spaces and inboxes, conversations and tasks, SOC 2 Type II.
• Productive: $24, up to 50 users. Adds integrations with external tools, rules and automations, basic analytics, and API and MCP access.
• Business: $36, unlimited users. Adds SAML SSO, IP restriction, advanced analytics and personalized team onboarding.

Strengths

• Several channels in one inbox: email, SMS and WhatsApp. Each user can connect up to 10 personal and 5 shared accounts.
• Rules: up to 1,000 rules on Starter and Productive.
• Integrations: the integrations page lists HubSpot, ClickUp, Asana, GitHub, Linear, Notion, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Shopify, Stripe and Zapier.

What to consider

• Integrations, rules and automations, and API and MCP access need Productive ($24) or higher.
• Starter caps at 5 users and Productive at 50.
• It is an inbox. It does not manage deals, pipelines or forecasts.
• SMS runs through Twilio, so check Twilio's own message fees.
• SAML SSO and IP restriction need Business ($36).

Bottom line

Shortlist Missive if several people answer the same inboxes and today forward emails to coordinate. Before buying, check that the integrations you need are in Productive or Business, not Starter.
