Tidio Pricing Explained (2026)

Tidio bills on billable conversations, not seats. Starter is $24.17/month for 100 conversations, and conversation volume is what really sets your bill.

The meter is conversations, and the definition matters

Almost every competitor in this category bills per agent. Tidio bills per billable conversation, which it defines as any live chat, ticket, email or social thread that a human agent replies to at least once. Unanswered visitor messages do not count. Threads that Flows or the Lyro AI agent close without human involvement do not count. And a conversation counts exactly once regardless of how long it runs.

That definition is the whole pricing model. Your bill is not a function of team size — it is a function of how many customer questions your humans had to touch. Two support people handling 1,800 conversations pay more than eight people handling 300.

Automation that actually lowers the invoice

Because AI-resolved conversations are not billable, improving Lyro's resolution rate directly cuts your cost per month. This is unusual and worth stating plainly: on most platforms, AI is an add-on line item that increases the bill. On Tidio it is the lever that reduces it.

The catch is the allowance. Free and Starter each include 50 Lyro AI conversations as a one-time grant, not a monthly refresh. So the tier where saving money via AI matters most is the tier where you have almost no AI to spend. Meaningful Lyro volume starts at Growth, where the allowance is quoted per account, and Premium exists specifically for teams running 3,000+ AI conversations with a guaranteed 50% resolution rate.

Modelling a real month

Say a store handles 900 total inbound conversations in a month. What you pay depends entirely on the split:

Lyro resolution rate Human-touched (billable) Where that lands you
0% 900 Growth, upper end of its 2,000 range
30% 630 Growth, mid range
60% 360 Growth, low end
0%, but only 90 inbound 90 Starter at $24.17

The same store, same traffic, sits at very different points on Growth's price range depending on how well the AI is configured. That makes Lyro tuning a finance activity, not just a support one — and it is why the Premium tier's managed service exists at all.

Where the tier boundaries actually sit

Free to Starter is a small step: $24.17 a month doubles you from 50 to 100 billable conversations. Take it the moment you exceed 50, because there is no reason to ration.

Starter to Growth is the meaningful decision. Growth starts at $49.17 and stretches to 2,000 conversations, so it is a band rather than a price. If you are doing 150 conversations a month you will be at the bottom of that band; at 1,800 you will be near the top. Ask for the quote at your actual volume rather than assuming the entry figure.

Growth to Plus is a different kind of purchase. At $300 a month plus usage, you are buying discounted per-unit rates and a dedicated success manager. It makes sense when your volume is high enough that a lower rate per conversation outweighs the base fee, and it is money thrown away below that crossover.

Who wins and who loses under this model

Tidio is priced well for ecommerce stores with seasonal traffic and lean teams — you can staff ten people on a Starter plan and pay for the conversations they actually handle. It is also the right shape for anyone genuinely committed to AI deflection, since the savings land on the invoice.

It is a poor fit for B2B teams with long, low-volume, high-touch relationships, where one account might generate forty conversations a year and none of them are automatable. Those teams get better value from per-seat billing — LiveChat's flat $49 per agent, or Crisp's flat workspace fee — because their cost is predictable and their volume is not.

It is also unpredictable at the top. Plus quotes a base plus usage, so unlike a per-seat plan you cannot know December's bill in November.

Confirm before you commit

These are Tidio's published figures as of July 2026, including the billable conversation definition taken from the company's own pricing page. Conversation allowances and Lyro pricing are the parts most likely to change — check tidio.com and get the Growth quote at your real volume before budgeting.

What the pricing page doesn't show

  • Plus is quoted as a base fee plus monthly usage. The $300 is a floor, not a price — your actual invoice depends on how many human and AI conversations you burn that month, so the number moves.
  • Lyro AI conversations on Free and Starter are a one-time allowance of 50, not 50 a month. Once you have used them, AI resolution stops until you upgrade or buy more.
  • Starter gives you 100 billable conversations for the month. A modest ecommerce store can clear that in a week during a sale, and the plan you sized in a quiet January will not survive November.
  • Ten seats sounds generous until you notice seats are not the constraint on any plan below Plus. You can add people freely and still be throttled by conversation volume — headcount planning and cost planning are decoupled here.
  • The Premium tier's 50% Lyro resolution guarantee comes with a managed service, meaning Tidio staff tune your AI. That is a services engagement priced on quote, not a feature toggle.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a billable conversation on Tidio?
Any live chat, ticket, email or social conversation that includes at least one message from a human agent. Visitor messages nobody answers do not count, and neither do threads resolved entirely by Flows or the Lyro AI agent. One conversation counts once no matter how many messages pass through it.
Is Tidio's free plan good enough to run support on?
For very low volume, yes. Fifty billable conversations a month and ten seats will carry a new store or a side project. It is not a trial that expires, which puts Tidio ahead of LiveChat for anyone who wants to start at zero, but 50 conversations is roughly two a day.
Does routing chats through Lyro AI lower my bill?
Yes, and that is the design. Conversations Lyro resolves without a human do not count as billable, so a high AI-resolution rate keeps you on a cheaper conversation tier. It is one of the few pricing models where automation genuinely reduces the invoice rather than adding a line to it.
When should I move from Starter to Growth?
As soon as you are reliably passing 100 human-answered conversations a month. Growth starts at $49.17 and scales up to 2,000 conversations, so the tier is really a range rather than a fixed price — expect the quote to reflect where in that range you sit.
What is the annual discount?
Starter's annual plan is $290 a year, billed as $24.17 a month, and Tidio describes it as two months free versus paying month to month. Growth and Plus are quoted individually.
Is Plus at $300 a month a big jump from Growth?
It is roughly six times Growth's entry price, and it exists for teams whose volume has outgrown per-conversation tiers entirely. What you are buying is discounted per-unit rates on both AI and human conversations plus a dedicated success manager — it pays off at high volume and is wasted at low volume.
