Membrain Pricing Explained (2026)

Membrain sells modules, not tiers — $49 for prospecting, $69 for pipeline, $89 for account growth — and the platform upgrades at $199 to $499 a month are where budgets go wrong.

Modules by motion, not tiers by size

Most CRMs sell you a bigger version of the same thing as you grow. Membrain sells different products for different sales motions.

Prospecting is $49 per user per month. Active Pipeline is $69. Account Growth is $89. Elevate, for coaching, is $89 per coach. Extensions — Tickets $29, Flows $19, Content Hub $12 — layer on top, per user.

There is no Starter, Professional or Enterprise. What you pay depends on which motions your team runs, and for whom.

Stacking is the number to model

A single rep who prospects, closes and grows accounts needs all three core modules.

Configuration Per user/month 8 users/year
Active Pipeline only $69 $6,624
Prospecting + Active Pipeline $118 $11,328
All three core modules $207 $19,872
All three + all extensions $267 $25,632

The bottom row is $267 per user per month, which is well past Salesforce Enterprise territory.

The right response is not to recoil from it but to licence deliberately. Membrain's structure is an invitation to be precise about roles: SDRs get Prospecting, AEs get Active Pipeline, account managers get Account Growth, managers get Elevate. Licensed that way, an eight-person commercial team might average $70 rather than $207.

Teams that hand everyone everything will find Membrain very expensive.

The platform upgrades are the trap

Three flat monthly fees sit outside the per-user model entirely:

  • Insight Engine, from $199/month
  • Automation+, $299/month
  • API+, $499/month

These are charged per account, not per user, which means their impact is inversely proportional to team size.

Team size Active Pipeline licences + API+ Uplift
5 $345/mo $844/mo 145%
20 $1,380/mo $1,879/mo 36%
50 $3,450/mo $3,949/mo 14%

A five-person team that needs API access more than doubles its bill. A fifty-person team barely notices.

If your deployment requires deep integration — and most B2B sales stacks do — establish that cost before evaluating anything else. It can be the largest single line for a small team.

No published commercial terms

Membrain publishes module prices and nothing else. No annual discount, no minimum, no contract length; the site says terms depend on your agreement.

That cuts both ways. There is no published anchor to negotiate against, which is unhelpful for budgeting. But it also means the listed rates are a starting point rather than a fixed rate card, and a serious deployment should expect to negotiate — particularly on the platform upgrades, which are the least defensible line for a small team.

Ask specifically about annual commitment discounts and about bundling the upgrades. Neither is published, which means neither is ruled out.

What the premium actually buys

Membrain is a process CRM. It is built to encode a sales methodology — the stages, the qualification criteria, the required evidence at each milestone — and to coach reps through executing it consistently.

That is a genuinely different product from Pipedrive or HubSpot, which give you a flexible pipeline and let you do what you like with it.

For an organisation that has invested in a methodology (MEDDIC, Challenger, a bespoke process) and struggles to make reps follow it, Membrain is close to unique in mainstream CRM, and $69 a user is reasonable for it.

For an organisation that has not, the process machinery is overhead. You will pay for structure you do not use and find the tool rigid where a general CRM would be flexible.

The question to answer before pricing anything: do you have a sales process you want enforced, or a pipeline you want tracked?

Currency parity favours dollar buyers

Rates are quoted at numeric parity — $49, €49, 490 SEK — rather than converted.

Depending on exchange rates, European and Swedish buyers may pay a meaningful premium against the dollar figure. It is a common practice and rarely negotiable, but it is worth calculating the real cost in your own currency rather than assuming $49 and €49 are equivalent.

Who should buy it

B2B sales organisations with complex, multi-stakeholder sales and a defined methodology they want the CRM to enforce, especially where different roles run genuinely different motions and can be licensed accordingly. For that buyer Membrain does something mainstream CRMs do not, and Active Pipeline at $69 is fair.

It suits badly small teams needing API+ at $499 a month, organisations without a defined sales process, and anyone who will licence every module to every user without modelling the $207 result. Check membrain.com for current module rates, licence by role, and price the platform upgrades before anything else.

What the pricing page doesn't show

  • Platform upgrades are flat account-level fees, so they hit small teams hardest. API+ at $499 a month on a five-user Active Pipeline deployment ($345) more than doubles the bill — the integration you need costs more than the CRM.
  • Modules stack. A rep who prospects, runs deals and manages accounts is not on one $49 licence; combining Prospecting, Active Pipeline and Account Growth is $207 per user per month before extensions.
  • Membrain does not publish annual discounts, contract lengths or minimums — the site defers to 'your agreement'. That means no published anchor for negotiation and no way to budget precisely from the rate card.
  • Extensions are per user too. Adding Tickets, Flows and Content Hub is $60 per user per month on top of whichever core module you bought.
  • Currency is quoted at parity across USD, EUR and SEK ($49 / €49 / 490 SEK), so European buyers pay a premium against the dollar rate depending on exchange rates.

Frequently asked questions

Which core module do I actually need?
Membrain's modules map to sales motions, not to feature tiers. Prospecting at $49 is for teams running structured outbound. Active Pipeline at $69 is opportunity management with process guidance — the closest to a conventional CRM. Account Growth at $89 is key-account planning for expansion-led businesses. Most teams start with Active Pipeline and add others only where a distinct motion genuinely exists.
Do the modules stack or replace each other?
They stack, and this is the single most important thing to model. A rep doing all three motions carries three licences — $207 a month — which is enterprise CRM pricing. Membrain's model rewards clarity about who does what: if your SDRs prospect and your AEs close, licence them differently rather than giving everyone everything.
Why is API+ $499 a month?
Because it is priced per account rather than per user, on the assumption that organisations needing deep API integration are larger. That assumption breaks for small teams: a six-person operation that needs API access pays $499 on top of roughly $414 in licences. If integration is essential and your team is small, price that in before falling in love with the methodology.
Is Membrain worth a premium over Pipedrive or HubSpot?
For a specific buyer, yes. Membrain is built around sales process and methodology — it enforces the steps a complex B2B sale should follow and coaches reps through them. If you have invested in a sales methodology and want the CRM to reinforce it, nothing mainstream does this as well. If you want a flexible deal tracker, you are paying for machinery you will not use.
