LiveAgent Pricing Explained (2026)
LiveAgent lists Small Business at $15/agent/month annually, but the call centre sits on the $29 tier and social channels are a $39/month add-on until Large.
| Plan | Price | Billing | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small Business | $15/agent/mo | billed annually ($19 billed monthly) | Ticketing, live chat, knowledge base, customer portal, contact forms, automation, integrations, AI Answer Assistant, AI Chatbot |
| Medium Business | $29/agent/mo | billed annually ($35 billed monthly) | Everything in Small Business plus call centre and IVR, time rules, reports, proactive chat, agent ratings, SLA |
| Large Business | $49/agent/mo | billed annually ($59 billed monthly) | Everything in Medium plus SSO, custom roles, time tracking, audit log, and social channels — Facebook, Instagram, X, Viber, Telegram, WhatsApp |
| Enterprise | $69/agent/mo | billed annually ($85 billed monthly) | Everything in Large plus dedicated account manager, priority 24/7 support, assisted integrations, free branding removal, custom billing, service reviews |
Cheap seats, priced channels
LiveAgent's headline is $15 an agent, and unlike most entry tiers that number buys a working help desk: ticketing, live chat, knowledge base, customer portal, automation, integrations and both AI features. Compared with Zendesk or Freshdesk at the same price point, it is a lot of product.
The bill inflates somewhere else. LiveAgent sells channels, and it sells them in three different ways depending on which one you want. Email and chat come with every plan. Phone comes with the plan, but only from Medium Business at $29. Social — Facebook, Instagram, X, Viber, Telegram, WhatsApp — is bundled into Large Business at $49, or bolted onto a cheaper tier for $39 a month flat.
So the honest way to price LiveAgent is not to look at the per-agent column. It is to list the channels you actually support, find the cheapest arrangement that covers them, and read the resulting number.
The add-on maths is worth doing properly
Because the social add-on is a flat $39 a month regardless of team size, and tier upgrades are per agent, the two options cross over at a specific headcount.
| Team | Medium + social add-on | Large Business | Cheaper option |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 agents | $126/mo | $147/mo | Medium + add-on |
| 5 agents | $184/mo | $245/mo | Medium + add-on |
| 10 agents | $329/mo | $490/mo | Medium + add-on |
| 20 agents | $619/mo | $980/mo | Medium + add-on |
The add-on wins at every size shown, which tells you Large Business is not really a social-channels plan. It is an SSO, custom roles, time tracking and audit log plan that happens to include social. Buy it for the governance features; if all you want is WhatsApp, stay on Medium and pay the $39.
The same flat-fee logic applies to extra knowledge bases at $19 a month each. That is cheap for one additional brand and expensive for eight — a multi-brand operation running six knowledge bases adds $114 a month before a single agent is counted.
Where the promotional pricing misleads
LiveAgent discounts hard and often. At the time of writing a 33% new-user code was live, taking Small Business to $10 an agent annually and Enterprise to $46. Comparison sites pick these rates up and republish them as list prices, which is why LiveAgent's cost is frequently understated across the web.
Take the discount if it is available — there is no reason not to. But build your budget on $15, $29, $49 and $69, because that is what renewal looks like. A 33% increase at renewal on a tool you have standardised on is a worse surprise than paying list from the start.
The branding tax
On every plan below Enterprise, the chat widget carries LiveAgent branding, and removing it is listed as a free benefit of Enterprise specifically. That is the mechanism by which the cheap tiers stay cheap.
For internal help desks and B2B support portals nobody cares. For a consumer-facing brand where the chat widget sits on a marketing site, it is a visible third-party logo on your own property, and the fix costs $20 an agent per month more than Large Business. Decide how you feel about that before you pick a tier rather than after your designer notices.
Who this pricing rewards
It rewards small multi-channel teams — three to fifteen agents who need phone and chat and email in one place and cannot justify Zendesk money. Medium Business at $29 with a built-in call centre is genuinely difficult to beat at that price; most competitors treat voice as a separate product with its own per-agent fee.
It punishes two profiles. Anyone who assumed $15 was the real number and then discovered SLAs and phone live one tier up. And consumer brands who need clean branding, since that requirement alone jumps you to the $69 tier regardless of what else you need. Note also that telephony minutes are never included on any plan — you bring a VoIP number and pay your carrier.
Promotional rates rotate, add-on prices change and channel placement between tiers has moved before. Confirm everything against liveagent.com/pricing before you commit to an annual term.
What the pricing page doesn't show
- Social channels — X, Facebook, Viber, Telegram, WhatsApp — cost $39 a month as an add-on on the lower tiers. Two social channels effectively cost more than an extra agent seat.
- Additional knowledge bases are $19 a month each. Multi-brand or multi-language operations need one per brand, and that stacks quickly.
- Branding removal is free only on Enterprise. On every cheaper tier, a LiveAgent-branded chat widget on your site is the price of the discount.
- The call centre and SLAs both sit on Medium Business. If you take phone calls or owe response times, your real entry price is $29 per agent, not $15.
- LiveAgent runs deep promotional discounts — a 33% new-user code was live at the time of writing. That price is temporary and renewal reverts to list, so budget against $15/$29/$49/$69, not the promo rate.
