Vendasta has introduced an "Opt-in Email Marketing" setting in Business App that automatically enforces explicit consent requirements for email and SMS campaigns in GDPR and CASL jurisdictions. When enabled, the campaign builder surfaces validation errors for any recipient lacking the appropriate consent flag, blocking sends to contacts who have not opted in. The setting covers both email and SMS campaigns.
For new account groups created in GDPR countries, the feature is enabled by default. Partners operating under CASL in Canada or other regulated markets can turn it on selectively through Email Configuration settings. Existing contacts without a recorded consent flag will trigger validation errors and must have explicit consent captured before they can receive campaigns. The update is aimed at partners, SMBs, and their clients running marketing campaigns in the EU, UK, and Canada.
